Outline:
This popular course is a three day special photo event and includes
two nights' stay, full board in a comfortable hotel. With
full tuition throughout along with mini tutorials, 1:1 sessions,
reviews and general camaraderie we visit the three B's, Brill,
Bicester and Burford.
At Brill Common we capture it's superb 17th Century Post Mill
sitting on the brow of a grass covered long disused quarry. It
has only every been operated by six Millers in its time. The
mill is unique in the sense that it can be photographed from
any angle which is a huge advantage to the keen landscape
photographer.
The first vicar to attend a service at St. Edburg's Church in
Bicester was over 900 years ago. It stands on the site of a
mediaeval Abbey. It's been added to over the years to create
a fine building including a tiny mediaeval stained glass in the
Chancel which you can get your lens right up to. It also has
superb glass behind an ancient font and fantastic carvings,
15th century wooden chests and eye catching architecture.
Here we'll show you how to capture stained glass in all its
details and richness, including zoom techniques, shoot a superb
church interior at ultra long shutter speeds to enhance the
shadow areas and prevent the highlights from burning out.
We'll also pick out the smallest details with macro to create
wonderful images.
Our final venue is the Wildlife Park near Burford which is one of
the Country's most photographer friendly zoos. We'll have
opportunity to photograph a fantastic collection of mammals,
birds, reptiles and invertebrates from all over the world including
Meerkats, white Rhino, Avocets, Cranes, Crocodiles, Mandarin
Ducks, Emus, Flamingos, Frogs, Heron, Hornbills, Jaguarundi,
Kookaburra, Lemurs, Birds of Prey, Scorpions, Tamarin (Emperor),
Vipers, Grey Wolves and Zebra.
Full tuition in given throughout in small sessions at the hotel,
on location and during the shoot.
The idea behind the event is to help you develop a wide
range of skills from macro to landscape photography all in the
short space of three days. It's also an opportunity to meet
and work with other enthusiasts and a chance to share aspirations,
images, technique and equipment.
