Foundation in Portraiture

A chance for you to experience working in a professional portrait studio and for those who do not own studio lights an opportunity to learn how to use your speedlite and replicate the same quality of results. To begin, a simple but effective lighting set up will be explained, step by step, using your flash to emulate a studio. It will then develop into a two or three light configuration. Backgrounds, lighting angles, exposure using a hand held meter or camera histogram will all be explained and we will also help you create a shadowless white backdrop which is ideal for 'Venture' lifestyle type photography. Lenses, shooting modes, wireless triggering, camera settings and menus will be covered to help you master the art of portraiture. A range of professional reflectors and diffusers will be available for your use throughout the day and their benefits explained to you. Lighting ratios, catchlights and skin tone will all be detailed to help you achieve flattering eye-catching portraits. You'll have a model to photograph and use of Bowens professional lighting equipment. The aim is to help you progress from clip-on flash to shooting high standard portraits that would not be out of place in any high street studio or home living wall. All refreshments and lunch included.
